Dragon Name Generator
Draconic names built from guttural and sibilant sounds. Pick an element and personality, and choose whether to add an epithet.
When to use it
Use this generator for dragons in fantasy novels, games and worldbuilding. Names are built from guttural and sibilant sounds that read as ancient and powerful, and they often carry an epithet such as “the Ashen” or “Stormborn” to give the creature a sense of history. It suits great wyrms, drakes and dragon-blooded figures whose names should feel weighty and a little alien next to the human characters around them. Pair it with the Kingdom or Fantasy City generators when a dragon is tied to a place it lairs in or rules.
How to use it
Pick an Element to shape the imagery and epithets — Fire gives scorch and blaze, Ice gives frost and rime, Shadow gives gloom and void, Storm gives thunder and gale, Earth gives stone and mountain. The Type control biases the epithet toward Ancient, Fierce, Cunning or Noble tones. Use the Epithet control to always include a title, never include one, or let the generator decide. Generate again for a fresh batch; previously seen names are skipped first, so you can keep clicking without repeats until the pool is exhausted.
